Job Description:
The Compensation & Benefits Specialist plays a critical role in designing, administering, and optimizing programs that attract, motivate, and retain top talent.  This role ensures that all pay structures, bonus plans, commissions, and benefits programs are competitive, equitable and aligned to organizational goals. The specialist works closely with the Sr Director of People Operations, Finance team, and departmental leaders to support all comp and benefit programs.

Key Responsibilities:
Compensation program management
  • Maintain salary ranges, job levels, and compensation tools to ensure consistency and internal equity.
  • Support annual compensation cycles including merit increases, promotions, market adjustments, variable payouts, and commission payouts.
  • Working close with the People Team management analyzes internal pay practices, market competitiveness, pay equity and role alignment to support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain data accuracy across HR systems.
Variable Compensation and incentive program
  • Maintain internal variable compensation plans for non-sales teams, ensuring alignment to performance metrics and financial goals.
  • Maintain and update bonus structures tailored to KPI’s, as necessary.
  • Administer and update sales commission plans.
Job Evaluation and Market Benchmarking
  • Evaluate new and existing roles to determine appropriate job levels, salary grades, and market alignment.
  • Conduct benchmarking using industry-specific data sources to assess competitiveness for both fixed and variable compensation and incentive eligibility.
Benefits Administration
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
  • Administer all leaves including FMLA, Parental, and ADA.
  • Function as point of contact for employee questions and escalations regarding benefits.
  • Support annual open enrollment, including plan updates, communications, and vendor coordination.
  • Review benefits billing and collaborate with broker of record on all compliance reporting.
Compliance
  • Ensure all compensation and commission structures comply with federal/state wage laws, pay transparency regulation, FLSA classifications and internal processes and policies.
  • Ensure benefit programs comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, audit trails for all compensation and benefit programs.
  • Support audits, regulatory files, and internal controls.

Required Skills/Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in administering company benefit and compensation programs.
  • Strong analytical skills with strong proficiency in Excel
  • Experience in designing and administering variable pay, bonus structures, or sales incentive plans.
  • Experience in administering benefit programs.
  • HRIS experience - preferably experience with Rippling. Compensation software experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with FLSA classification, pay transparency requirements and incentive plan compliance standards.
  • Experience supporting multi-state or global workforces.

The targeted salary range for this position is $56,500 - $81,650.

The posted salary range for this position may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; internal pay equity; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
